Lennis Pederson informed the Committee that ninety-six parking stalls across have been placarded for handicapped parking. Five such stalls have been added this semester. There are about 4,000 parking stalls on campus. At the time of the meeting, it is not known what the ratio should be. Since the meeting it has been determined that code

would require about 52 designated parking spaces.

Mark Panning talked about the recent tour of the Lied learning & Technology Center. The tour displayed the use of a no-charge software that can display ASL individuals for conversation. Many varieties of video conferencing were available for review.

Discussion about projects to remove architectural barrier and to make the campus more accessible included the report of creation of five new parking stalls designated for handicapped.

Operation and staffing of the booth at the Benefits Fair was discussed. Part of the conversation involved a brief viewing of a part of a video titled "The ADA and Disability Law" which was agreed to be shown at the Benefits Fair.

The meeting adjourned at 10:35 A.M.

The next meeting will be at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday, October 28th, 2004 in the Swanson Hall Technology Room.
