ADA Meeting - May 25, 2006

Minutes: Approval of the April 27, 2006 minutes by Andrea Jahn and seconded by Jeff Branstetter


Mark Panning introduced a presentation by Cisco Systems. Cisco system engineers spoke about the newest technology available in the communication market place. The demonstration of the products pointed out the new equipment that will soon become law to provide. Through the presentation, the technology that is in place at Creighton was hi-lighted. Using an IP network is required to have the newest of audio a visibility impaired phone systems. On campus upgrades to use the services on campus will required purchase of upgraded software and hardware. These two pieces need to come together on an IP network. The present University procedure would have the individual departments cover the expense. Cathy Pedersen suggested the need to make information about the newest technology pieces available to people. Mark Panning will have links to the website created.


Wade stated that he has not received the training package from the University of Utah. The on-line training program is anticipated to be received and reviewed before the June meeting.


Terri Lynch announced her resignation from the committee and the University. The Committee thanks here for her help and wishes her the best into the future.
