ADA Meeting - February 24, 2010

The Committee discussed the April 14th Symposium. Some of the key points include:   - SEN will have the Discovery Day Event starting at 10:30 am in the west of the Skutt Ballroom.   - Lunch will be a soup and sandwich buffet starting at 11:30 am.   - The physical set up of the ballroom will include a stage with tables for the presnters. 12 round tables with chairs for 10 at each table.

Mark Panning gave a detailed presentation of the ADA website. His focus was on the improvements he has made. Added to the website is a section about ADA architectural barriers. He is also developing an on line training program for campus continuants.

Lee Budesheim reviewed the results of the survey. Nearly 500 people responded of which 400 completing the full survey. The survey was more focused with its questions when compared to the previous survey.

Anne Schoening was asked to work with Lee Budesheim to develop a list of facts about ADA information. The list is anticipated to be a handout at the April Symposium.

Deb Daley informed the Committee that she was developing a package to be submitted to the University Budget Committee for an ADA budget. The request will be in two parts; ADA Committee operating expenses and a capital improvements budget.

Lennis told the Committee that the list of architectural barriers presented at the January meeting was being edited. The process is more time consuming than earlier anticipated.

Mark Panning gave a brief update on the ADA website improvements. He has added several links to make more information easily accessible.

The meeting adjourned at 12:10 pm.
