Report from Jeff and Denise: ADA Related Statistics for Employees and Students

Jeff needs to do a survey before the end of the fiscal year to get accurate employee stats.  Need to consider additional languages.

Denise reported on number of students from different schools that have disclosed a disability and tests proctored by ODA.

·         346 students have disclosed

·         572 proctored exams

Denise reported on a breakout of the disability type per school and trends in test taking which have increased significantly over the years.

Some schools do their own testing.  Denise feels they are still following guidelines as the students will report back to her if accommodations are or are not followed.

See details below.

Jeff to let Amy know when it will be on the agenda.

Denise to send stats out to the group electronically.

ADA Survey Update

(see below for ’05 – ’10 comparison, Amy)

The committee briefly discussed the survey responses to increase committee awareness of past surveys.  We’ve made some positive improvements but have far to go.

Amy will work to find a student group to help with the next survey.

Temple University Accessibility Efforts Video (Mark)

Mark played about 15 minutes of the Temple video.

The committee felt the video was worth viewing and asked Mark to forward the link.

Mark will send out the link.
