This is a community program to provide an educational opportunity for citizens to learn more about the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Sponsored by the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Metropolitan Omaha and hosted by Creighton University.

Recognition and Awards Ceremony

This recognition ceremony honors individuals and organizations that have exhibited distinguished civic and community ideals espoused by Creighton University’s mission statement. Awards presented this night are the President’s Martin Luther King Jr. Legacy Award, The John P. Schlegel, SJ, Center for Service and Justice Diversity Award for Excellence and Innovation, Martin Luther King Jr. Student Leadership Award and the Tamara Fay Stovall-Smith “Fulfill A Dream” Award. Local elementary, middle and high school students are also honored for their participation in contests relaying Martin Luther King Jr.’s messages.
