What is sustainability?

Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

 

Come learn more about various sustainability issues that affect us every day!  The following organizations will have information available.

 

Creighton Recycling – single-stream recycling is coming!  Learn how you can make a difference!  Firstar Fiber will also be there with recycling information
 

Custodial Services – learn more about the clean cleaning practices in use on campus!

MetrO! Rideshare – learn how easy carpooling can be!

 

US Green Building Council Flatwater chapter – green building practices, technologies, policies and standards


Self-guided campus tree tour – pick up a brochure to take a tour of the trees we have right on campus!

 

Did you know that there’s a nature classroom at Russell Child Development Center?  Find out more!

 

The Energy Management Office will have energy saving ideas

The 11th Hour -- Sustainability Day Movie

This documentary from well known activist and actor Leonardo DiCaprio examines the state of the global environment with renewed energy in the wake of recent natural disasters. Included are interviews with over 50 leading scientists, thinkers and leaders who discuss their visionary and practical solutions for restoring the planets beleaguered ecosystems.
