DoIT and EH&S are modifying the process to dispose of unused Creighton owned computers and their peripherals. Work orders now go to DoIT, not to Facilities Management. More information can be found here.


Contact EH&S for information on recycling the following:

  • Batteries
  • Aerosol cans
  • Fluorescent bulbs
  • Mercury-containing devices

These items are required by the EPA and NDEQ to be recycled.

What can be recycled?

You can put the following items in your desk-side recycling bin:

  • Paper products -- all types, including
    • Office paper, copy paper, colored paper
    • Envelopes
    • Cereal boxes, paper packaging, etc.
    • Newspaper
    • Magazines, catalogs, and phone books
    • Cardboard -- Please break boxes down. Thank you!
    • Pizza boxes (no pizza bones!)
    • Coffee cups (Green Mountain -- no styrofoam)
  • Empty water and pop bottles or cans (lids do not need to be removed)
  • Clean  plastic containers -- all types
  • Metal containers -- all types
  • Frozen food trays and plastic carryout containers (These items must be rinsed out)
  • Plastic cups, cookie trays, etc.

** Please note that all of these items must be clean and empty.

What is trash?

Trash must not be thrown into the recycle bins.  Please put the following items in your centrally located trash receptacle:

  • Food and liquid
  • Chip, gum and candy wrappers (including foil)
  • Kleenex, tissue paper or paper towels
  • Construction material
  • Plastic bags
  • Glass
  • Wax-lined beverage cups

Other recycling

TONER and INKJET CARTRIDGES can be returned for recycling.  If your cartridge comes with a mailback label, please use it.  If there is no label, simply mark it with "RECYCLE" and contact Central Receiving at 280-2397 for pickup.  They will collect the cartridges and send them back to the recycler.
