eProcurement Tool Coming to Campus

To be prudent stewards of Creighton's resources, adoption of business practices that improve service and increase operational efficiency is a critical step when modifying business processes. A recent process improvement initiative underway is the licensing of a web-based eProcurement tool to support University-wide supplier selection and purchasing. The tool is a "best practice" solution from Unimarket, a national firm focused on education and health care organizations. The tool assists in standardizing buying processes and provides benefits to the University such as better information for decision-making, elimination of manual processing, enhanced policy compliance, cost savings on goods and services, a more user friendly "shopping cart" process and more.

A targeted rollout of the eProcurement tool will take place late this fiscal year with full rollout planned for next fiscal year. A collaborative implementation effort will be led by groups from Finance, Purchasing and DoIT. The initial strategy will be to work directly with high volume users in all schools and divisions to test and refine the tool, align it to Creighton's needs, modify approaches to its implementation and help champion it to the entire campus. Everyone's support and collaboration is critical to our success and we pledge to keep you informed regarding major milestones.
