Online training
The Department of Environmental Health and Safety is pleased to announce that Lab Safety Training is now available online exclusively. We hope you will find this a more convenient and efficient way to receive your training. One change is that there will be a quiz at the end of the training; please be sure to take the quiz and press send on the email that pops up at the end of the quiz. This is the only proof we have that you did the training and passed the quiz.
There are three options for training at this time.
- New Employee/Student Training is for people who are new to Creighton, regardless of the training they received at prior institutions. (25 minutes)
- Annual Lab Safety Training is required for everyone that is working in a lab in 2009 and that has not already completed New Employee/Student Training this calendar year. (25 minutes) Please note that any other necessary training, including Bloodborne Pathogens and Defensive Driving, is still offered in-person only. Please see the New Employee Training page for more information.
- Lab Safety for Visitors is for the occasional visitor to labs -- computer technicians, administrative personnel, delivery people, and the like. (10 minutes)
All lab workers that are not Radiation workers must also take the Radiation Safety Basic Education Video and quiz (15 minutes). The annual refresher training for Radiation Workers remains a live training through 2009, and is coordinated through the Radiation Safety Office (x5570).
The letter explaining the new training is available for download.
HAVING PROBLEMS? Are you having difficulties sending your test results? It may be because Outlook is not set up on the computer you are using. When the email pops up at the end of the quiz, just copy and paste your results into the email client of your choice (CUMail, Thunderbird, etc.) and send them to MaryRitterbush@creighton.edu.
Please contact Mary Duda or John Baxter with any questions related to the content of the training.
