Four strategic issues were identified during the 2005 University Strategic Planning Retreat. In addition to the strategic issues are a variety of goals proposed by Deans, Directors, and other administrative and senior faculty personnel. The goals are written in the present tense as a "state of being" for the university, with the assumption that if the goals are achieved, the strategic issue will be addressed, resolved, or mitigated. Tactics underlying each goal were proposed by faculty, staff, and administrators within each of Creighton's Divisions. Both goals and tactics are vetted by Deans, Directors, and Vice Presidents in order to form the smallest, most powerful set possible. This set of issues and goals was approved by the President's Cabinet on September 30, 2005.
