Safety On Campus
The safety and well-being of students is a primary consideration at Creighton University. To that end Creighton has created a variety of programs, offices and systems to ensure that students remained informed and safe while on campus.
CU Alert
CU Alert is part of Creighton's Crisis Plan to notify community members in case of an emergency. CU Alert sends messages automatically to the whole community through text message, phone and email. Whatever the emergency, students can know about it right away and act accordingly.
Security
Creighton is an open campus, inviting the community and public to attend lectures and events. In order to ensure that buildings, dorms and offices remain safe, however, the university uses a card-access system to only allow authorized personnel and visitors access.
Public Safety
Creighton's Office of Public Safety patrols the campus 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Officers can be seen on foot, bike or car throughout the campus. The office also runs the campus shuttle service throughout the day and evening to help students get to other parts of the campus safely and quickly. Students may also request to be escorted by a Public Safety employee to their car or residence hall at any hour of the day if they do not feel comfortable walking alone.
Campus Security Report
The annual Campus Security Report provides information on institutional policies concerning security, alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault and other matters. The report also includes statistics for campus crime reported over the past three years. You may download a copy of the Annual Campus Security Report.
