Computers and Technology

Creighton University was recently ranked as the #5 Wired University by PC Magazine and the Princeton Review. Creighton won this award because of the wealth of student technology resources.

Paying for tuition online, registering for classes on-line and submitting a paper through your class's website are just a few examples of resources students use daily.

Buying Your Computer

Creighton's Department of Information Technology (DoIT) has recommended computer configurations for students coming to Creighton. The combination of a PC or Mac laptop and an iPad is recommended, giving you the tools necessary to succeed in college and beyond.

You can also purchase  Microsoft software at a discount through Creighton (NetID and Blue password required).

Labs All Over Campus

Students who want to leave their laptop in their room can get online at one of the Student Technology Labs. There are labs located in most residence halls, Skutt Student Center and several academic buildings. All Student Technology Labs are connected to the University's centralized printing system. A nominal fee is charged per page for printing.

Wireless All Over

Wireless is available in many public spaces including all three libraries, the Skutt Student Center and the lobby of each residence hall. Notebook computers should have an 802.11a/b/g/n wireless card to access the wireless network.

Broadband in Your Room

At Creighton University, each residence hall room is equipped with high speed internet access and cable television. Each room has one or more cable modems that have four Ethernet ports so you and your roommate(s) can connect all of your internet enabled devices. For connection to the wired network you will need a 10/100 Ethernet adapter. The Student Service Desk can help install and configure your Ethernet adapter for connection to the network.
