Psychology (34 credits)

A Certificate of Psychology will be awarded to students who successfully complete the following requirements: all courses in Group A, at least one course each from Groups B-E, one additional course from Groups B-E, and three additional PSY courses, a total of 34 hours:*

Group A

PSY111: Introductory Psychology (3)
PSY313: Research Methods and Statistics I (3)
PSY315: Research Methods and Statistics II (3)
PSY316: Research Methods and Statistics III (1)

Foundation Courses: At least one course, but no more than two, from each of the following three groups totaling fifteen credits:

Group B: Experimental/Mechanistic Approaches to Psychology

PSY431: Cognitive Psychology (3)
PSY434: Learning: Basic Processes (3)
PSY436: Sensation and Perception (3)
PSY437: Physiological Psychology (3)

Group C: Humanistic Approaches

PSY341: Infant and Child Development (3) OR
PSY342: Adolescent and Adult Development (3)
PSY343: Psychology of Personality (3)
PSY344: Social Psychology (3)
PSY351: Abnormal Psychology (3)

Group D: Capstone

PSY424: History and Systems of Psychology (3)
PSY326: Undergraduate Internship in Psychology (3-4)
PSY428: Multicultural Issues in Psychology OR
PSY473: Psychology of Gender (3)
PSY465: Advanced Behavioral Research (3) OR
PSY491: Honors Seminar

Elective Courses: Students must also take nine additional credits of PSY elective courses. SWK261 or BIO571 also count as electives.
