I have found two sizes of medallions, both done by the same artist. Click on any image to see it in even more detail.

2⅜ Inch

1950? Four heavy bronze medallions depicting fables of La Fontaine. Artist: Jean Vernon.
	MM: $75 from Frances Trachtenberg, Massapequa Park, NY, through eBay, March, '04. The strip across the background of MM depicts all the animals which Perette looked forward to raising and selling. This medallion alone among the large medallions has no writing on the verso. The workmanship on all four of these medallions is excellent.
	GA: $32 from John Wiersma, Holland, through eBay, Sept., '03. This medallion has no title but has the key lines "Vous chantiez? J'en suis fort aise. Eh bien! dansez maintenant." The verso has "Crepsa - 1952 - C.D. Tr. Eprs - I: Le Dr. M. Van de Wyer." The workmanship on all four of these medallions is excellent.
	Le Heron: $32 from John Wiersma, Holland, through eBay, Sept., '03. This medallion's verso has "Crepsa - 1950 - I: Dr. M. Van de Wyer." The workmanship on all four of these medallions is excellent.
	TH: $32 from John Wiersma, Holland, through eBay, Sept., '03. This medallion has no title but has the key lines "Rien ne sert de courir. Il faut partir a point." The verso has "Crepsa - 1952 - 2 C. Tr. - I: Le Dr. M. Van de Wyer." The workmanship on all four of these medallions is excellent.

1950? Three bronze medallions depicting fables of La Fontaine. Artist: Jean Vernon. Nothing on the verso. $31 or $32 each from James Johnson, Tucker, GA, through eBay, August, '05.

These medallions are smaller than the variety above, but in exactly the same style. The three I have are FC, FG, and FS. Only FG has any information other than the title of the fable and the artist's name: "Ils sont trop verts et bons pour les goujats." The workmanship is excellent. Now of course I need to pursue the question of whether some medallions were cast only in the smaller format and others only in the larger--or whether there were two complete sets, and how large they were.
