1985/88 Aesop's Fables. Volume I. My Book About: Reading, Writing, Thinking. Creative Approaches to Language by Dr. Kathryn T. Hegeman. Well-Done Series. Monroe, NY: Trillium Press. $4 from New England Mobile Book Fair, April, '89.

This fine four-volume series comprises good activities for school children based on fables (eleven per volume) well chosen for their human lessons. Almost every story has a good question labelled "Something to think about." The best fable and picture here may be "The Bald Man and the Fly." Its moral: "You only hurt yourself when you are annoyed by small things." Also good for its moral is "The Sick Lion": "It is easier to get into trouble than out of trouble."

1985/88 Aesop's Fables. Volume II. My Book About: Reading, Writing, Thinking. Creative Approaches to Language by Dr. Kathryn T. Hegeman. Well-Done Series. Monroe, NY: Trillium Press. $4 from New England Mobile Book Fair, April, '89.

The best pictures here are for DLS and FK. The best moral is to "The Fox and the Lion": "Knowledge overcomes fear." The best ending line has the goat asking the wolf "Are you worried about my dinner or yours?"

1985/88 Aesop's Fables. Volume III. My Book About: Reading, Writing, Thinking. Creative Approaches to Language by Dr. Kathryn T. Hegeman. Well-Done Series. Monroe, NY: Trillium Press. $4 from New England Mobile Book Fair, April, '89.

This volume moves on to poems, possessives, and competition. The best illustrations are for BC, "The Tree and the Reed," and AL.

1985/88 Aesop's Fables. Volume IV. My Book About: Reading, Writing, Thinking. Creative Approaches to Language by Dr. Kathryn T. Hegeman. Well-Done Series. Monroe, NY: Trillium Press. $4 from New England Mobile Book Fair, April, '89.

This volume includes Noah at its end and the funny and unusual Momus fable. Asked to look at the original creations (man, house, and ox), Momus found fault with everything by saying "Too bad it doesn't have..." He was thrown out of the home of the gods.

1997 Aesop's Fables, Volume III.  Dr. Kathryn T. Hegeman.  Paperbound.  Unionville, NY: Creative Approaches to Language:  Royal Fireworks Press.  $4.98 from mtnbhiker through eBay, Jan., '16.

Here is an almost exact duplicate of an item in the collection.  A cursory look over the booklet reveals that Royal Fireworks Press has dropped its address in Downsview, Ontario and has only the Unionville address.  They have also added an email address.  The price seems to have changed from $5.99 to $7.99.  I presume that the year of publication has changed, but there seems no indication of that change in the booklet itself.  As I mention concerning the earlier printing of this booklet, see the original printing by Trillium Press under 1985/88.  Apparently nothing is changed here except the publisher, copyright date, and cover.  The cover is now a bright yellow with a colored picture of CP.  Royal Fireworks Press shows a portrait rather than landscape book, dates the latest edition in 2015 and gives the price as $9.99.

2015 Aesop's Fables, Volume I.  Dr. Kathryn T. Hegeman.  Paperbound.  Unionville, NY: Creative Approaches to Language:  Royal Fireworks Press.  $7 from Royal Fireworks Publishing Company, March, '16.

This large-format booklet of 48 pages was originally printed by Trillium Press in 1985.  Royal Fireworks Press republished it in 1997.  Now the same publisher has changed the format from landscape to portrait.  Apparently little is changed here except the copyright date.  Print has been taken off the back cover, its picture is now colored, and the truck logo has moved from the front cover to the back.  The final chapter, "Finding Words in a Dictionary," has changed to "Listening and Talking."  In many of the pages, the book has not changed its orientation.  The pages are simply orientated 90 degrees.

This large-format booklet of 48 pages was originally printed by Trillium Press in 1985.  Royal Fireworks Press probably republished it in 1997.  Now Royal Fireworks Press has published a version not in landscape but portrait format.  Apparently little is changed here except the copyright date.  The front cover features an illustration for CJ, and the back cover a set of colored geometric figures without any print.  The truck logo is also on the back cover.  The final chapter is "Listening and Talking" as in Volumes I, II, and III.  This booklet completes the four-volume set.
