The set is in excellent condition! The colored illustrations are rich and lively. There are eight fables in this volume: "The Two Crabs" (33), BC (35), "The Donkey and the Lap Dog" (50), TMCM (84), "The Dancing Monkeys" (92), TH (106), LM (108), and TT (178). "The Dancing Monkeys" has wonderful illustrations. All the fables in the series are listed on 242 of Volume 12. I am delighted to have found this set so economical and in such good condition.

See my comments on the 1937 edition. This edition is covered in a plain red library binding. It was discarded from the Salt Lake County Public Library in Midvale, Utah.

1920/25/28/37 Up One Pair of Stairs of My Book House. Volume 3 of twelve . Edited by Olive Beaupré Miller. Various illustrators. Chicago: The Book House for Children. $4.00 as one of the set from Don Dupley, Omaha, March, '94.

The set is in excellent condition. The colored illustrations are rich and lively. There are five fables in this volume: "The Foolish, Timid, Little Hare" (76), "The Honest Woodman" (114), SW (162), DM (163), and "The Boaster" (175, in verse). The latter three have colored illustrations. The illustrations of the middle three are modeled after those of Walter Crane. All the fables in the series are listed on 242 of Volume 12. I am delighted to have found this set so economical and in such good condition.

See my comments on the earlier edition (1920/37) in the full set of twelve books. This 1963 edition changes the place of three of the five fables, even though the page total and basic structure of the offerings remain the same. This green-covered edition has some markings. Two of the Walter Crane illustrations colored earlier show up here in black-and-white: SW (moved to 196) and DM (moved to 197). "The Boaster" has moved to 175. Notice the goof that leads to the extra pages 91a and 91b.

Yet one more edition of a nice book, this one with a white cover. Some of the black-and-white illustrations of the edition of 1920/63 are colored here, like that on 93.

The set is in excellent condition. The colored illustrations are rich and lively. There is one fable in this volume: "The Mice" (131) from the Winnebago. All the fables in the series are listed on 242 of Volume 12. I am delighted to have found this set so economical and in such good condition.
