African Culture Connection: Students assisted with a number of tasks to assist this new 501c3 get a sound start. Emphasis was on marketing and grant writing assistance.

Area Health Education

Augustana Cornerstone Foundation: Students organized and planned a festival to bring awareness to the foundation and increase involvement within the community of North Omaha.

Boys and Girls Club: Students put on a talent show with an MC, DJ, rehearsals, etc. Twenty-five members performed to an audience of about 130 people, including other members and parents.

Camp Fire, Inc: Students contacted Elkhorn, Ralston, and Omaha Public Schools to bring attention to the Camp Fire's plays for elementary school students. They also created a marketing brochure for the West Side Middle School's after-school program.

CU Peer 2 Peer Counseling: A student created a database for tracking hours, activity, purpose, and effectiveness of volunteer activities.

CU Spring Service Trip to St. Joseph's Servics: Daughters of Charity: A student served as a trip coordinator for week-long service experience in a poor area of Chicago.

First Lutheran Family Services, TEAM After-School Program: Students organized lesson plans and variety of after-school activities for economically-disadvantaged children.

Friendship Program, Inc.: A student organized an Employee Appreciation Week and a system for tracking volunteers.

Juan Diego Center: Students assisted in a customer service assessment of a restaurant. They wrote and submitted a detailed report of suggestions that could result in better customer experiences and therefore, more business.

Hope Medical Outreach Coalition: A student organized a 3-on-3 charity basketball tournament with 40+ teams and sponsors which raised over $1,700 for Hope Medical Outreach services.

Leading with Values Retreat: A student designed and put on a retreat for 22 of her sorority sisters with emphasis on Intellectual Development, Leadership and Good Citizenship.

Legal Aid: Students prepared a client satisfaction survey that was sent to over 600 Legal Aid clients. The team collected and analyzed finished surveys, and presented their findings to the Board of Directors.

Omaha Children's Museum: A student assessed the management systems in place and assisted with some changes in admission and staff scheduling.

Omaha School of Music: Students designed and executed a new database system for client/billing records.

Omaha Sports Commission: A student assisted with the organization of a youth volleyball clinic open to all children in Omaha, which had 300+ participants. The event also promoted the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship in Omaha.

Omaha Urban Area Health Education: Students assisted with design of brochures and a plan for their distribution.

Ronald McDonald House: A student organized 10k, 5k and 2k walk/run for the charity, including fundraising, advertising and registration processes.

Seven Oaks of Florence: Students assisted with the creation of a brochure and other marketing efforts for this housing complex for senior citizens in North Omaha.

St. Jude Children's Hospital: A student organized a day-long basketball tourament and a Haunted House that benefited the Gifford Park Association and the Open Door Mission.

Veterans of Foreign Wars: Students organized a fundraising project to buy phone cards for Creighton alumni serving in the military.

Word of Mouth: Students updated a website for easier access and increased fundraising capabilities for this organization, which provides preventative oral health education to schools, senior centers and shelters in Iowa.
