Jim Bretl
Director, Creighton Career Center
Jim Bretl, M.S., has an undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University and a master's degree in Student Development from St. Cloud State University.
Bretl has worked in the Career Development Field and Student Affairs in higher education for 26 years at four different midwestern universities. Prior to Creighton, he spent 22 years at Marquette University in Milwaukee, serving as director of their Career Services Center from 1996-2003.
Bretl is responsible for directing the Employee Relations activities of the Career Center, providing career programming support for students and recent alumni, and supervising the overall activities of the Career Center and the Career and Academic Planning (CAP) Program. He has reciently taken on the additional responsibility of managing the second year advising program (Creighton's Ratio Studiorum Program), and is a member of the Creighton College of Business Advisory Council.
