Norlin Rueschhoff
Retired Professor of Accounting, University of Notre Dame
Norlin Rueschhoff graduated as an accounting major from Creighton University in 1955. He also received a master's degree and Ph. D. from the University of Nebraska. He is a recent recipient of the Life Award from the American Accounting Association (AAA), and an Outstanding Service award from the International Accounting Section of the AAA.
At Notre Dame, Rueschhoff taught financial accounting and auditing and specialized in International Accounting. He spent six years in Europe as an international operations auditor and chief accountant for Stars and Stripes headquartered in Darmstadt, Germany. In 1974, he spent a year in the Peat Marwick Mitchell headquarters in New York with its Professional Practice group. He served as the Accountancy Department Chair at Notre Dame from 1979-1983 and has been Director of the Undergraduate Foreign Studies program in Innsbruck, Australia and Director of the MBA Foreign Studies semester program in Santiago, Chile. Presently he serves as treasurer for three non-profit organizations and as a member of the Creighton College of Business Advisory Council.
"I have felt honored to be a member of the Council since its inauguration and am happy to continue to serve as an academic representative," Rueschhoff said. "It is always inspirational to participate with Creighton enthusiasts at the council meetings. I have always valued my Creighton education highly and was happy to recently visit Loyola, Spain, where the Jesuit order started and now still has a magnificent facility."
