For the month of February 2008, reported March 3, 2008

Colorado’s Business Conditions Index for February plummeted to 59.1 from January’s 86.9. The leading economic indicator from a survey of supply indicates that the state’s growth will cool to a more sustainable pace in the months ahead.  Components of the overall index for February were new orders at 62.1, production at 60.1, delivery lead time at 58.3, inventories at 58.4, and employment at 54.2.  “Growth in Colorado’s manufacturing sector is slowing while firms in the large mining and natural resources industry are experiencing very strong business activity,” said Goss.
