Dr. Mark Ahn

Dr. Mark Ahn is professor and chair of science and technology entrepreneurship at Victoria University of Wellington.  Prior to entering academia, he was founder and CEO of Hana Biosciences, and he also has held management positions at Genentech, Amgen, and Bristol-Myers Squibb. He currently serves as Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of Zygem and is on the Advisory Boards of several biotechnology startups.  Dr. Ahn holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology from Northwestern University and an M.D. from Osaka University.

Dr. Michael Dixon

Dr. Michael Dixon is president of UNeMed Corporation, the technology transfer office of the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  His graduate studies focused on molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry.  Dr. Dixon’s has help positions of increasing responsibility at UNMC, including a fellowship at the Eppley Institute for Research in Cancer and Allied Diseases and intellectual property faculty liaison.  His current responsibilities include directing the protection, marketing, and licensing of new technology created at UNMC. Dr. Dixon is an active member of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) and the Licensing Executives Society (LES).

Dr. William Duckworth

Dr. William Duckworth is associate professor of decision sciences at Creighton University. His research focuses on statistics education, design of experiments, and computational issues in statistics. He has received National Science Foundation grants and awards for his efforts in improving teaching and learning in introductory statistics and has worked on developing curriculum guidelines for undergraduate programs in Statistical Science as part of an American Statistical Association initiative. Dr. Duckworth also co-authors a text for introductory business statistics and frequently consults with an international biological research and animal health company on pre-clinical trial design.  Dr. Duckworth earned his PhD in statistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. William Hamilton

Dr. William Hamilton is associate professor in the department of pharmacy sciences at Creighton University. His research interests include complementary or alternative approaches to chronic health problems Dr. Hamilton earned his PhD at the University of California at San Francisco.

 

 

Dr. Robert Moorman

Dr. Robert Moorman is professor of management and holder of the Robert Daugherty Chair in Management at Creighton University.  He is also the founding director of the Anna Tyler Waite Center for Leadership.  His research interests include the study of leader integrity and its effects on follower performance.  His PhD is from Indiana University.

 

 

Dr. Prafulla Raval

Dr. Prafulla Raval holds an adjunct faculty position in the Creighton University Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, where she trains health science graduate students, post-doc fellows and technicians in immune response mechanisms and the cancer development process.  Raval earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a certificate in applied computer science from Creighton University.  She has published in a wide range of scholarly journals, including Nucleic Acids Research, Journal of Clinical Orthopedics, Journal of Pharmacological and Toxicological Methods, Biochemical Pharmacology, and the Journal of Dental Research.

Dr. Karen VanDijk

Dr. Karin Van Dijk is assistant professor of biology at Creighton University. Prior to joining Creighton University Her current research is focused on bacterial pathogens. She earned her PhD from the Department of Plant Pathology at Cornell University.

 

 

Dr. Mark Reedy

Dr. Mark V. Reedy, co-director of Creighton’s Professional Science Masters degree program, is an associate professor of cell and developmental biology and chair of the biology department at Creighton University.  Dr. Reedy received his Ph.D. from the University of California Davis and completed a post-doc at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center prior to joining the Creighton faculty in 2001.  His research interests include the mechanisms that establish the final arrangement of cells and tissues during embryonic development.  He has published in a variety of scholarly journals, including Developmental Dynamics, Developmental Biology, and the Journal of Molecular and Cell Biology.

Henry Runge, JD

Henry Runge is a licensing specialist at UNeMed Corporation, the technology transfer office of the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  He was admitted to practice by the Nebraska Bar Association in 2007 and is a registered practitioner at the University Patent and Trademark office.  Runge simultaneously received his J.D. and Masters Degree in Science from the University of Iowa. He has worked in a variety of research positions, including a fellowship at the Carver Center for Comparative Genomics at the University of Iowa, the Henry Doorly Zoo Conservation Genetics Lab, the Eppley Institute for Research in Cancer, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Dr. Trent Wachner

Dr. Trent Wachner, is an assistant professor of marketing at Creighton University.  His research focuses on innovation, inter-firm relationships and marketing strategies. Prior to academia, Trent held positions in outside sales and strategic marketing for Lucent Technologies’ largest service provider customers including Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint, British Telecom and China Telecom amongst others. His Ph.D. is from Washington State University.

 

Dr. John R. Wingender

Dr. John R. Wingender, Jr. is professor of finance and chairman of the department of economics and finance at Creighton University.  His research involves portfolio investment strategies.  He has consulted with companies such as Ernst and Young, Eli Lily, Coca Cola, Dell Computers, and Pfizer. His Ph.D.is from the University of Nebraska.   

 

Dr. Anne York

Dr. Anne York , associate professor of strategy and entrepreneurship, directs Creighton’s entrepreneurship programs, along with the NSF-funded Bioscience Entrepreneurship program and the Professional Science Master’s program. Her research involves strategies for managing in hypercompetitive environments, including information technology and the biosciences.  She has served on the Business Policy and Strategy executive committee of the Academy of Management and as division and program chair for the technology and life sciences division of the U.S. Association of Small Business and Entrepreneurship. A former manager at Atlantic Richfield’s research center and a tax specialist at KPMG, Dr. York has consulted for such companies as Booz, Allen, Hamilton, Trigon Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Creighton Medical Associates, King County Department of Mental Health (Seattle),  HealthPlus, and Compression Dynamics. She earned her PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a certified public accountant.
