Parking Permit, Medical School Yearbook, & Student Health Insurance Fees
Student Parking Permits
All vehicles parked on Creighton University property are required to display a valid University parking permit. A valid parking permit consists of BOTH a hang tag AND a validation sticker. The hang tag should be affixed to the rear view mirror. The validation sticker should be placed on the outside of the rear window on the driver's side.
Students needing a parking permit will now register their vehicle on-line through their student NEST website. Once the student has registered their vehicle on-line, the Parking Permit fee will be automatically assessed to their tuition billing statement. Students can then pick up their parking permit from the Public Safety Office located at 2204 Burt Street during the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m, Monday thru Friday.
Students who register their vehicle on-line after November 1st, will be assessed a pro-rated parking permit fee on their tuition billing statement. The amount will be determined by the date you register your vehicle and the Public Safety Office.
If a student who obtained and paid for a parking permit will be graduating in December or withdraws from the University mid-year, the student can receive a pro-rated refund of their parking permit fee by returning their parking permit hang tag and sticker to the Public Safety Office.
Students who do not have a vehicle on campus or don't need a parking permit, will no longer have to file a parking permit waiver.
For more information about campus parking permits, please visit our Public Safety Office web page.
Medical School Yearbook Fee and Waiver
The yearbook fee is charged to all 4th-year School of Medicine students on their Fall semester eBill statements. School of Medicine students should contact the School of Medicine Student Affairs Office for further information on the distrubuition of their yearbooks during the final week of the Spring semester.
Students who do not wish to receive a yearbook, must complete the on-line waiver process on the NEST web site by the last payment date for the Fall semester. Failure to complete the waiver by the deadline date will result in the student being responsible for payment of this fee. No late waivers will be accepted.
Undergraduate yearbooks will no longer be produced, so undergraduate students will no longer have to waive this fee.
Student Health Insurance and Waiver
Creighton University mandates that ALL FULL-TIME students be covered by a comprehensive health insurance plan for the entire academic year.
Undergraduate students registered for 12 or more credit hours and Graduate students registered for 8 or more credit hours are considered to be full-time.
A comprehensive health insurance plan fulfills the following requirements:
- Coverage for inpatient and outpatient medical care within the Omaha area. (Emergency only coverage does not satisfy this requirement.)
- Coverage for inpatient and outpatient mental health care within the Omaha area. (Emergency only coverage does not satisfy this requirement.)
- Coverage is currently active and maintained for the entire academic year.
Offers a lifetime maximum of at least $250,000 in coverage per accident or illness.
Every full-time student will be enrolled and charged (a semi-annual premium each semester) for the University sponsored health insurance on their tuition eBill statement. It is the responsibility of each student to submit proof of comparable insurance coverage by completing the on-line waiver by the date indicated on their tuition eBill statement (or see Important Dates) and ANNUALLY at the beginning of EACH ACADEMIC YEAR. New students entering the University during a Spring semester must submit proof by completing the on-line waiver by the tuition payment due date for the Spring semester and annually at the beginning of each academic year thereafter. The waiver form can be accessed through the student NEST web site.
Note: The premium for the University sponsored student health insurance plan will remain on the student's account unless the waiver process is properly completed before the deadline. Creighton University is unable to remove the student health insurance fee if a waiver is submitted after the deadline date and the student will be enrolled in the University sponsored health insurance plan for the entire academic year. If Health Services becomes aware of a lapse in the student's outside health insurance coverage, the student will be automatically enrolled into the University sponsored plan and the entire premium will be reflected on the tuition eBill statement.
Once the waiver form has been completed and satisfactory proof has been submitted, the student will receive a confirmation email that the waiver has been approved. The University will be notified to remove the student health insurance charge from the student's account.
