Parking Permit, Yearbook, & Student Health Insurance Fees and Waivers
Parking Permit Fee and Waiver
All vehicles parked on Creighton University property are required to display a valid University parking permit. Parking permits are issued by the Public Safety office located in the Walter Jahn Building at 2204 Burt Street across the street to the North of the baseball/softball complex.
The parking permit fee is assessed to all full-time students. The fee will appear on the Fall semester tuition and fee eBill statement. Full-time students who will not be parking a vehicle on campus must complete the on-line waiver process on the NEST website. The fee will be removed from their student account once the waiver has been completed. The on-line waiver must be completed no later than the last payment date for the Fall semester. Students will be responsible for payment of the parking permit fee unless the waiver is completed by the deadline date.
A pro-rated parking permit fee will be assessed to all full-time students entering Creighton University at the Spring semester. The fee will appear on the Spring semester tuition and fee eBill statement. The on-line waiver process must be completed by the last payment date for the Spring semester if the student will not be parking a vehicle on campus. Students will be responsible for payment of the parking permit fee unless the waiver is completed by the deadline date.
Parking permits for part-time students are issued by the Public Safety office. Students pay for the permit directly to the Public Safety office.
Yearbook Fee and Waiver
The yearbook fee is charged to ALL Undergraduate students and all 4th-year School of Medicine students on their Fall semester eBill statements. Undergraduate yearbooks are distributed at the Skutt Student Center Information Desk during the final week of the spring semester. School of Medicine students should contact the School of Medicine Student Affairs Office for further information on the distrubuition of their yearbooks during the final week of the Spring semester.
Students who do not wish to receive a yearbook, must complete the on-line waiver process on the NEST web site by the last payment date for the Fall semester. Failure to complete the waiver by the deadline date will result in the student being responsible for payment of this fee. No late waivers will be accepted.
Student Health Insurance and Waiver
Creighton University mandates that ALL FULL-TIME students be covered by a comprehensive health insurance plan for the entire academic year.
Undergraduate students registered for 12 or more credit hours and Graduate students registered for 8 or more credit hours are considered to be full-time. A comprehensive health insurance plan fulfills the following requirements:
- Coverage for inpatient and outpatient medical care within Creighton University campus area including care received at the Center for Health and Counseling. (Emergency only coverage does not satisfy this requirement.)
- Coverage for inpatient and outpatient mental health care within the Creighton University campus area including care received at the Center for Health and Counseling. (Emergency only coverage does not satisfy this requirement.)
- Coverage is currently active and maintained for the entire Academic year.
- Offers a lifetime maximum of at least $250,000 in coverage per accident or illness.
Every full-time student will be enrolled and charged (a semi-annual premium each semester) for the University sponsored health insurance on their tuition eBill statement. It is the responsibility of each student to submit proof of comparable insurance coverage by completing the on-line waiver by the date indicated on their tuition eBill statement (or see Important Dates) and ANNUALLY at the beginning of EACH ACADEMIC YEAR. New students entering the University during a Spring semester must submit proof by completing the on-line waiver by the tuition payment due date for the Spring semester and annually at the beginning of each academic year thereafter.
Note: The premium for the University sponsored student health insurance plan will remain on the student's account unless the waiver process is properly completed before the deadline. Waivers for health insurance submitted after the deadline date will NOT be accepted and the student will be enrolled in the University sponsored health insurance plan for the entire academic year. If Health Services becomes aware of a lapse in the student's outside health insurance coverage, the student will be automatically enrolled into the University sponsored plan and the entire premium will be reflected on the tuition eBill statement.
The waiver form can be accessed through the NEST web site or at Aetna Student Health Insurance. Once the waiver form has been completed and satisfactory proof has been submitted, the student will receive a confirmation email that the waiver has been approved. The University will be notified to remove the student health insurance charge from the student's account.
