Frequently Asked Questions

How do I receive my tuition billing statement?

Electronic Bills (eBills) have replaced all paper bills for Creighton University students.  Students receive email notification through their Creighton email account when bills are available to view online at their student self service NEST web site.  It is the student's responsibility to make sure that the responsible party who will be paying for their tuition and fees either receives a copy of the tuition billing statement or has been granted as an Authorized User to their student account information to ensure their tuition bill is paid on time.

When is payment due for tuition?

Payments of tuition, room, board, and fees are due in full before the start of each semester and no later than the Last Payment Date for each semester or or official school term to avoid Late Payment Fees.   Failure to receive a statement is not an acceptable excuse for not meeting a payment deadline.

How do I receive a refund from my student loans?

My employer will pay for my tuition, but they will not reimburse me until the end of the semester. Can I defer payment and not be assessed any late fees?

Most employer reimbursement plans will not reimburse the employee until several weeks after the end of the semester and not until they have received verification that you have completed the class and you have received a satisfactory grade.  Creighton will NOT defer payment until the end-of-semester if you are reimbursed directly from your employer.  You will be required to pay for your tuition out of your own funds or if you are eligible, you will need to apply for financial aid to cover your tuition balance.  You may also contact the Creighton Federal Credit Union at (402) 341-2121 to inquire about a short-term tuition deferment loan (CFCU Express Loan Application).  Tuition and fees are due by the first day of the semester or term and no later than the Last Payment Date in order to avoid costly late payment fees.  Please see the section on "Payment Options" and "Late Payment Fees" on this web site.

I received notice that I can not pre-register for my classes for the next semester because there is a Business Office HOLD on my account, why is this?

If you receive notice that the Business Office has a HOLD on your registration, diploma, grades or transcripts, then you most likely have a balance that still needs to be paid for outstanding tuition, owe on a University emergency loan, or you may still need to complete an Exit Interview (if you are graduating or leaving the University).  The Business Office will not release any HOLDS until all outstanding balances are paid in full or you have completed your Exit Interview.  See the section on "Past Due Accounts" on the POLICIES page or see the Student Loans page on this web site.
