2008 Tennis Rules

  1. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING THEIR CURRENT CREIGHTON PICTURE ID TO PARTICIPATE (All players must be a full time student or a KFC member).  ID checks may be made to verify eligibility of players.  Players without proper ID will not be allowed in the KFC to participate. 
  2. All players must agree to the following:  Intramural Sports activity.  I acknowledge that participation in the activity may involve the risk of bodily injury, property damage, or any other danger.  I freely assume all risk of loss, property damage, or personal injury, including death, that may be sustained by me as a result of participating in the activity, whether caused by the negligence of Creighton University, its agents and employees, or otherwise.  I hereby release, waive, and discharge Creighton University, its Board of Directors, and its agents and employees from all liability to me, my personal representatives assigns, heirs, and next of kin, for all loss or damage and any claims or demands thereof, including attorney’s fees, on account of injury to myself or my property.  I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Creighton University and any of its directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims and cost arising directly or indirectly as a result of my participation in the activity.
  3. Each match will consist of a 10 game pro-set, having to win by two games.  Each player or team (in doubles) will switch sides on every odd game.  A tiebreaker will be played if and when the match reaches 10 games to 10 games.  The players will then play a 12 point tiebreaker to 7, having to win by two.  In a tiebreaker, the players will alternate serving.  The player who serves first will serve one point and then the next player will serve two points.  Each serve will consist of two points from then on until a player win.  The time limit for each match is 50 minutes during the regular season and one hour for the play-offs.
  4. Players may play two matches each week.  The league will end with a single elimination tournament.
  5. All matches will be played at the KFC and all matches are self officiated.
