The John P. Fahey Career Center, as a part of the Creighton EDGE, is committed to assisting students and alumni in exploring, developing, and implementing career goals that reflect their unique roles in the world of work and their commitment to a life of service to others.
The Career Center believes that a student's career encompasses any direction they are interested in pursuing actively throughout their education and post-graduation, whether full-time volunteer, government and non-profit, business, academia, further education, or anything in between.
Students will have the ability to:
The Career Center engages students in several ways to meet these goals:
Students can meet with a Career Counselor to discuss anything from deciding on a major or career of interest to applying for a job or graduate school. Counselors can help students discover what they desire to do and assist in accomplishing their goals.
Faculty and staff can refer students to set up an appointment at 402.280.2722 or encourage students to come in during walk-in hours (Monday-Friday, 1:30PM-4:30PM during the academic year).
The Career Center hosts a variety of events each year that aid students in their professional and personal development. Opportunities include etiquette dinners, career and graduate school fairs, networking events, employer office hours, and much more. Check out the calendar for upcoming events.
Many of the events are open to faculty and staff. Furthermore, the Career Center enjoys partnering with departments and the campus community when planning new or updating current events.
This online career management system helps students manage their resumes, cover letters and other employment-related documents. It provides access to the Employer Directory with more than 5,000+ employers nationally. Students can search and apply for jobs and internships, schedule on-campus interviews, and access career events at Creighton University.
The Career Center provides resources no matter where a student is at in their career development, beginning with career assessments and counseling to help students explore options, along with resources to connect students with alumni and other professionals to learn more about career paths. If they are in the process of applying for internships or jobs, there are resources for the search, application, and interview processes. If a student's future plans involve graduate or professional school, there are many resources for the application process and trained counselors to work through the process and edits with them.
