Career Services for Students and Alumni
Dear Creighton Parents:
The John P. Fahey Career Center is here as a resource that students and alumni can access at any point in their college and professional careers. We offer many workshops and programs to help develop skills that can lead to success. We work with freshmen and sophomores to help them choose majors and minors that match their greatest strengths. In fact, the Career Center anchors the sophomore year academic advising program for “still deciding” students.
As our students progress though their college years the Career Center is here to help our students choose a career focus, research employers, assist in applying to graduate and professional school, create a professional resume and cover letter, and practice interviews.
Other job search programs that the Career Center offers include networking, applying to graduate and professional school, and resume and cover letter workshops in preparation for the Annual Career Fair.
On October 7th the Fall Career Fair will be held in the Harper Center Ballroom. There will be over 75 employers, graduate schools, and volunteer organizations in attendance to provide undergraduates and recent alumni an opportunity to ask questions and apply for internships and entry-level positions.
Although this may seem early for students to begin searching for jobs and internships for the summer, many companies are looking to interview and hire for summer internships and full time positions after graduation. In addition to our scheduled programs we offer individual assistance to all students though scheduled appointments and walk-in hours every afternoon. For more information check out the Career Center website at www.creighton.edu/careercenter.
Parents with questions about their students’ career development should feel free to call on us.
