Dr. Ken Wise: “The New Silk Road Between Dubai and China: An American Perspective”

Dr. Ken Wise, Professor Emeritus of Political Science and International Relations at Creighton University, has been in Dubai since 2006. He is the Director of the Policy and Research Division of b’huth, a private independent company and public policy think Tank. Dr. Wise’s lecture will be based on his recent trip to China and his seven years living in Dubai.

Following the lecture, Dr. Wise will present a limited edition facsimile of “Vienna Dioscorides” a rare book (worth more than $10,000) donated by 1995 Creighton political science and business alum Ahmed Obaid Al Mansoori of Dubai, president of b'huth and a member of the Federal National Council. The book was originally produced in the early sixth century and contains knowledge of early herbal pharmacology.

This special luncheon is sponsored by the AsianWorld Center and the Reinert/Alumni Library. Seats are available for the first 65 people at this luncheon event.
