Creighton FPA Chair Dr. Frederick Hanna Conducts Symphony in Nanjing (June 5, 2013)

Dr. Frederick Hanna, chair of Creighton University's Department of Fine & Performing Arts, conducted his "Nanjing: Symphony No. 1" at Nanjing University of the Arts (NUA) in Nanjing, China, on June 5, 2013. The symphony was dedicated to NUA and according to Dr. Hanna, its creation was inspired during his previous visits to the China, in particular the city of Nanjing. The entire program consisted of the following three performances:

  • Symphony No. 8 in B Minor "Unfinished" - Franz Schubert
  • Trumpet Concerto in E-flat Major - Franz Joseph Haydn
  • Nanjing: Symphony No. I (dedicated to Nanjing University of the Arts) - Frederick Hanna

After a very well-received performance, Dr. Hanna met with NUA's President and presented him with a gift on behalf of Creighton University.
