Description: Creighton Arts and Science seniors Kristina Smith, Ronan Conlon, and Andrew Trapp will share their experiences from their China trip with students who have done research on China this semester.
Issues to be discussed will range from the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, pollution, and the fear of China's rising. Dr. Maorong Jiang, Director of the Asian World Center, will moderate. *This event will conclude the Asia on Wednesday lecture series for the 2006-2007 academic year. Monday, November 12, 2007 2:30-3:30 p.m. Creighton in China - Skutt Student Center, Rm. 209 Dr. Jinmei Yuan will give a presentation on the faculty-led summer program abroad to China. Students have an opportunity to experience the history and culture of an ancient civilization while earning credit. She will also talk about the trip planned for Summer of 2008. |

Tuesday, November 13, 2007 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. International Fair - Skutt Student Center Fireplace Lounge Do you have an idea of what countries our international students come from and what countries Creighton students study abroad in? This will be your opportunity to meet Creighton’s international students and our study abroad ambassadors. Students will display information about their country of origin or host country with posters and artifacts. Come and learn about the world at the International Fair! Co-sponsored by OIP and International Student Association.
During the International Fair, Sodexho will feature a “Taste of the World” in Wareham court; entrée choices offered beyond the usual international menu. Enjoy some of our students’ favorite food from various regions of the world!
7:00-8:00 p.m. Study Abroad Past Participant Panel - Skutt Student Center Room 104 Have you ever wondered what it's really like to study abroad? Creighton students who have studied abroad will answer questions about their recent experiences in the Dominican Republic, Australia, Korea, Ireland, Italy, Spain and Sweden. In addition to country-specific questions, the student panel will be available to answer questions about how to research program options, when to start the application process, and why studying abroad is possible for any major. Come and find out how study abroad has impacted the lives of these students. |

Info Sessions are regularly held each week in the Office of International Programs during the day. A special evening information session will be conducted for students. During the info session we will discuss the application process, the course approval process, and the study abroad program opportunities available. If you're planning to study abroad, this is your chance to complete the first step of the process. Don't miss this special, one-time event! |

Friday, November 16, 2007 6:00-7:00 p.m. International Potluck Dinner - Lower St. John’s The Multinational Ambassador Program, sponsored by the Office of International Programs, will be hosting a potluck dinner. Everyone is welcome to attend! Please RSVP at 280-2221 and bring a dish to share! The MAP program pairs international students with American students to promote and encourage cross-cultural friendships. |
