Part One: The Image of Asia: Conflict

April 20 (Monday)-April 24 (Friday):
1. Photography Exhibit by Mr. Ray Feng (China) and Faculty members at Creighton.
2. "North Korea: The Hermit Kingdom from the Forbidden Lens" (Photos taken inside of North Korea)
3. "Asia: Open Land and People" (Photos taken of Asia by Creighton faculty members)

April 21 (Tuesday):
Keynote Event: "International Conflicts and Asian Approach on Disputes"
--A Dialogue between Dr. Yong Deng (United States Naval Academy) and Professor Arthur Pearlstein (Director, Werner Institute for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution)
--Moderator: Maorong Jiang (Director, Asian World Center)

Part Two: The Image of Asia: Change

April 22 (Wednesday):
Comparative Workshop on The Lost of Traditional Culture in Asia vs. Historical Tragedy of the Lost Native American Culture
--Participants: Professors John Thein (Fine and Performing Arts), Herb Grandbois (Social Work and native American), Heather Fryer (History), Jinmei Yuan (Philosophy) and Rick Witmer, Maorong Jiang (Political Science)

April 23 (Thursday):
Evening Concert: "Innovation and Tradition-The Combination of Asian Tradition of Change and Our Modern World"
--Featuring compositions by Japanese composer, Koji Nakano, with the classical Japanese art songs inspired by four seasons, nature and lullaby.  The pieces will be performed by Creighton music major students.

Part Three: The Image of Asia: Responsibility

April 24 (Friday):
Morning: Asian Writers’ Conference: “Hope of a Peaceful World and Role of Individuals”

Afternoon: Roundtable Talk: “For a Better World”
--Writers, philosophers, politicians, artists who are involved in the Non-Culture Week sit in a circle with Creighton students to discuss our responsibility for a better world.
 
Movie night: Showing the movie(s) from the writers’ conference during the week.
