COM 101: Digital Communication Lab

The Department of Communication Studies teaches COM 101: Digital Communication Lab. The course must be taken with Critical Issues in Human Inquiry (CIHI) and fulfills part of the Foundations requirement in the Magis Core Curriculum. COM 101 is an online course taught exclusively through BlueLine.

Digital Communication Lab introduces the subject matter of how to give a speech and lays the foundation on which students can then build a speaking competency. Argument construction (and fallacies), speech organization, verbal and visual support, use of technology, delivery, audience analysis, topic selection, research, information literacy and eloquentia perfecta are all covered. Students will design and deliver speeches in their Critical Issues in Human Inquiry course using strategies they have learned and practiced in their Digital Communication Lab.

If you have questions about COM 101, please contact the course director, Dr. Guy McHendry.
