Laura Keimig (M.S. South Dakota State University) joins Creighton University this year as the Assistant Director of Forensics and will teach Principles of Communication Competence. Laura taught communication courses and coached the Individual Events Team for two years at James Madison University. Her research interests include interpersonal communication and group interaction. She especially enjoys analyzing service-based relationships and anything related with forensics. She is especially excited to work with Creighton's Speech and Debate Team. Originally from Aurora, SD, Laura has spent the last two years at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA as the Assistant Director of Individual Events. In 2008, JMU placed 18th in the nation at the American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament. In her young career, she has already coached a national quarter-finalist in poetry and prose, a semi- finalist in impromptu speaking and interpretation of drama, a 5th place finalist in communication analysis, and a national champion in program oral interpretation. She was recently hired by Creighton University as their Assistant Director of Forensics. Laura loves traveling, making jewelry, and the opportunities forensics has brought her way.
