Ms. Tina Bakehouse
Tina M. Bakehouse (M.A. Communication Studies, University of Nebraska-Omaha, BA in Communication-Theatre, English teaching and BA in Communication Studies) teaches Civic Engagement for Public Communication and Managerial Communication. She taught speech and English over five years at Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs and Process Writing for two summers at Boys Town in Omaha. Her research interests include interpersonal communication, oral and written instructional communication, nonverbal communication, and health communication. Professor Bakehouse gained professional experience working as an employment specialist in human resources for Omaha Steaks, tutoring and co-teaching composition at the University of Northern Iowa, and promoting parades at Walt Disney World. An active Iowa High School Speech Association judge, Prof. Bakehouse judges four competitions annually, is an active member of the Wilson Performing Arts Board, Malvern Public Library Friends, and Mills County Extension Board. Additionally, she has consulted medical professionals with their instructional and professional communication. Most recently, she has developed a theatre camp for youth in Southwest Iowa.
