Creighton in China
Welcome!
Welcome to the new Creighton in China website. Information about the summer 2010 trip coming soon!
Program Description:
The China Study Abroad (CSA) program is an FLPA (Faculty-Led Program Abroad) program which gives about twenty students the opportunity to take part in a three-week academic trip across China during the summer. The program will be led by two or three Creighton faculty members and includes two days of class at Creighton prior to departure then three weeks of travel to several Chinese cities (big and small, ancient and modern). CIC offers students the chance to immerse themselves in Chinese culture and also gives them the distinct opportunity to do service abroad in a village. Students who have been on the trip in the past have made many friends, experienced China in many ways (from its delicious, authentic food to its historical sites and language), and have made memories that will last a lifetime. Two to three courses are usually offered from which students select one to receive college credits.
CIC is co-sponsored by the Creighton University College of Arts and Sciences, the Philosophy Department, Asian World Center (AWC), Office of International Programs (OIP), and China’s Soong Ching-Ling Foundation (CSCLF).
