Biography

Peggy M. Rupprecht is the Journalism Program Director and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science, Design and Journalism at Creighton University. She teaches classes on media and digital literacy, American journalism history and public relations. Her research interests include leadership, public relations and stakeholder engagement, global learning, qualitative phenomenology, and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Prior to joining the Creighton faculty, Dr. Rupprecht served as the Director of Communications for Westside Community Schools, a public school district in Omaha, NE. In this leadership role, she facilitated strategic communications for internal and external stakeholders, developed communication strategies for the website, publications and social media, and served as the districtís primary news media spokesperson. She is also an experienced broadcast journalist, having worked for KMTV in Omaha, NE and WBAY-TV in Green Bay, WI. Dr. Rupprecht earned her Ph.D. in Human Sciences with a Specialization in Leadership Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
