Dr. Mark Wierman
Associate Professor of Computer Science
Dr. Mark J. Wierman is an associate professor of Computer Science at Creighton University, Omaha, NE. He received his B. A. from Purchase College (SUNY), and M. A., and Ph. D. from Binghamton University (SUNY).
Dr. Wierman has published two books and over fifty articles. Dr. Wierman is an editor for the International Journal of General Systems. He is currently a member of the Society for Mathematics of Uncertainty (SMU) and North American Fuzzy Information Society (NAFIPS). As a member of these organizations he edited the latest NAFIPS Conference Proceedings as well as the Critical Review for SMU.
Dr. Wierman is currently engaged in the fuzzy math spatial modeling project at Creighton. He also collaborates with Dr. William J. Tastle investigation measures of agreement and consensus. Much of his previous research was in the field of Generalized Uncertainty or Fuzzy Set Theory.
Dr. Wierman teaches various courses in CS, focusing on Computer Graphics and Human-Computer Interaction. He is involved with Creighton’s Honors program for which he teaches classes such as Fuzzy Set Theory, and Godel, Escher, Bach.
