Admissions Requirements
Application for Incoming Freshman
Incoming Freshmen who meet the following criterion will be invited to apply:
- Academic Achievement (High School GPA of at least 3.7)
- ACT Composite Score of at least 29 (SAT Score of 1290 excluding the writing score)
If you are interested in being considered for admission to the Honors Program, you will be asked to provide the following materials on-line:
- Demonstrated Interest in the Program
- Completed Honors Program Application (see Admissions website)
- Essays
Application for Current Freshman
Current freshmen who want to be considered for the honors program should provide the following materials to the Honors Director before February 1 (spring term freshman year):
- Demonstrated Interest in the Program
- Current Resume
- Two 500 word essays:
1) Describe a moment that forced you to change your opinion about an issue or person.
2) Please familiarize yourself with the Mission, curriculum and other aspects of the Honors Program. Write a 500 word essay discussing what and how you can contribute to the Honors program. In your opinion, what is the purpose of an Honors program?
In addition to the merits of the application, an interview will determine participation in the program.
Interested students should note that attainment of the stated grade point criteria and standardized test scores assure consideration, but not acceptance.
