AJCU Conference

AJCU Honors Conference 2018

March 23-24 at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska

Welcome from Dr. Hause

Jesuit colleges and universities aim to inspire their students to high academic achievement, original research, living as men and women for and with others. To foster their capacity to meet these expectations, our honors programs owe them an outstanding curriculum, attentive mentorship, resources, and high-impact opportunities, yet it is increasingly difficult to meet these obligations in our current academic climate. Our conference will focus on how we can overcome these challenges, live up to our obligations, foster our students' vocations, and form graduates who will set the world on fire.

The conference fee is $160 and includes one lunch and two dinners. Please register using the link to this BlueQ survey and pay via PayPal. If you prefer to pay by check please contact Dr. Jeffrey Hause at the  jphause@creighton.edu. The last day to register is February 15th. Contact Dr. Hause with questions or concerns.

Lodging and Transportation

Creighton has reserved a block of 200 beds at the Element Hotel. The cost of rooms will be $109 and you are encouraged to book early. Transportation to and from campus as well as to off-campus dinners and zoo excursions will be provided in the form of buses. Conference attendees are responsible for any transportation outside of conference events.

The Element Hotel provides an airport shuttle free of charge. Please note that this shuttle must be reserved and requested beforehand and that if you arrive outside of shuttle hours you will need to find alternate transportation. Other means of airport transportation are available through taxi and Uber services.

Additional Information

Dress Code:

We have been receiving questions from students pertaining to the dress code of the conference. Wear what you are comfortable in, but we suggest attire that reflects the nicer side of casual. We also suggest packing a pair of comfortable walking shoes.
