Samantha Swerdfeger


Samantha was elected president of the Russian Club on February 6, 2009.  She is a freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences, and is planning to major in Biology and minor in Public Health and (when minor is approved) in Russian.  She is very enthusiastic about developing the Russian program at Creighton and is working hard on expanding Russian language activities and programs.  She is the youngest of five kids and grew up in Pueblo, Colorado. She loves soccer, traveling, and cooking.

Welcome to Russian Club!

Russian Club has been established on January 22, 2008.  Its mission is to promote the advancement of education and interest in the Russian language, art, culture, history, traditions, science, economy and politics.  Membership is open to all in the Creighton community. 

The Club President is Samantha Swerdfeger, Vice President is Joel Mapes, and Treasurer is Kirk Gasper.  The club officers and its members are actively working on increasing awareness and interest in Russian Studies.  The Club's program content includes several activities such as organizing speaker presentations and conferences on campus, cultural events, language and literature hours, movie nights and other discussion forums.  Everyone is welcome to participate and enjoy learning about Russia and other Russian speaking countries.  Please check this website frequently for new updates and calendar of events.  

The membership is free for everyone and we encourage you to join us.  There are lots of fun activities and you will enjoy your experience.   If you are interested, please contact us with any questions.
