


The Creighton University Department of Fine and Performing Arts had a group of students and faculty invited to perform at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Region V.
Jake McCoy, a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences, received a Certificate of Merit for his stage management work on the Dancing at Lughnasa production. He also received a National Stage Management Region V Honorable Mention for his work on the Merry Wives of Windsor: A Wild West Romp production.
Mallory Freilich, a 2011 Theatre graduate, won Certificates of Merit for her costume design and also for acting in the Dancing at Lughnasa production.
Stephen Sheftz, Musical Theatre Coordinator, won a Certificate of Merit for musical direction in Into The Woods.
Molly Welsh, a student at the University of Nebraska Omaha, won a Certificate of Merit for house production in the Creighton production of Dancing at Lughnasa.
Started in 1969 by Roger Stevens, the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) is a national theatre program involving 18,00 students from colleges and universities nationwide which has served as a catalyst in improving the quality of college theater in the United States. The KCACTF is comprised of a network of more than 600 academic institutions where theatre departments and student artists showcase their work and receive outside assessment from KCACTF respondents.
