Creighton Political Science Professor Receives Honor Society Award

James S. Wunsch, Ph.D., chair of the political science and international studies department at Creighton University, was awarded the Chapter Adviser Recognition Award for 2007 by Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society.

The Chapter Adviser Recognition Award recognizes faculty members who have served as advisers to their chapters of the political science honor society with extraordinary dedication, commitment and leadership for an extended period of time. It is reserved for the most exemplary advisers whose chapters have consistently been most active and productive.

Students in Creighton's chapter have won the national Pi Sigma Alpha competition for best undergraduate class paper twice in the past seven years.

Wunsch was the founding chapter director of the Theta Alpha Chapter of the national political science honor society at Creighton University and has served as the chapter's adviser since. He has been a faculty member at Creighton since 1973.

Pi Sigma Alpha has 670 chapters on campuses across the country and is the only honor society specifically for students with high academic achievement in the study of political science.
