Careers in Justice and Peace Studies
After graduating with B.A. in Justice & Society from Creighton University in 2003, I spent two and a half years in Managua, Nicaragua as a Jesuit Volunteer working at an orphanage for adults and children with mental and/or physical disabilities. I helped feed, bath, entertain, and teach life skills to the 97 residents. After returning to the States for two months, I went to Guarjila, a community in the mountains of El Salvador, and helped a group of six women start a micro-business while also working with a local youth group. I am currently (September, 2007) a first year MSW/MBA student at Washington University in St. Louis. After graduating in May 2009, I want to work with and for women in developing countries in order to create viable and sustainable social and economic opportunities for them and their families.
