An Independent Study course is intended to expand, enhance and enrich students field of study in a particular subject area not offered by the Social Work Program. 

Only social work majors are permitted to enroll in Independent Study courses.  Students wishing to enroll in an Independent Study course in the Social Work Program must contact a social work faculty member willing to supervise the course.  In addition, the student completes the Independent Study Form and submit the form to the Program Director.  The Program Director consults with the faculty member who consented to supervising the Independent Study and decides if the request is approvable.
