Biblical Studies

Program Description:  The Biblical Studies minor examines the historical, social, and literary contexts of the biblical texts, and their use in theological traditions. Students will explore the Old and New Testaments using the techniques of modern historical criticism. Requirements include:

Biblical Studies Minor (18 hrs)

A) One class (3 hrs)  from courses numbered THL 201-203

B) One class (3 hrs) from courses numbered 205-212

C) Two classes (6 hrs) from courses numbered THL 501-529

D) Two classes (6 hrs) from the 500 level courses listed above or from the following:

  • THL 350
  • Any approved courses from Classics & Near Eastern Studies, including courses in Hebrew and Greek languages. (Consult the Bulletin for details.)
