Counseling Center

Counseling Services is a highly utilized, fast-paced mental health service with primary responsibility for meeting the mental health needs of Creighton students. Counseling Services is part of an integrated health service, located jointly with Health Services in the Center for Health & Counseling.  Counseling Services is accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services (IACS).

Mission Statement

Our mission is to assist undergraduate and professional students to define and accomplish personal, academic and career goals.  Services offered by our specially trained staff are to help all full time enrolled students enhance their functioning and growth potential; to acquaint all students with self-help and preventative skills; and to assist all students with immediate and specific personal, academic and career concerns.
Counseling Services is committed to consultation with the Creighton community; to assessment, evaluation and research about effectiveness of its services and the characteristics of today’s university students; and to training and supervision of paraprofessionals, practicum students and interns.

Hours of Operation

During the fall and spring semesters, Counseling Services begins its operation at 8:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. Evening hours (until 6:30 p.m.) are available Tuesday and Wednesday, and the Center closes at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Thursday and Friday each week. The Center is open 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. during the summer.

The Center for Health & Counseling is located in the Harper Center for Life & Learning, constructed in 2008. Student Health Services and Student Counseling Services share the space together, making for easy coordination of care. Interns have their own private office.
