Campus Health Presentations

Student Health Services offers a variety of health presentations for students groups on campus:

  • Men's Health-educational program focused on men's health topics pertinent to college students.  Presented by Dr. Nate Haecker, Medical Director of Student Health Services.
  • Sexual Health and Awareness-program designed to educate students on sexual health and how our catholic values guide our care of the whole person.  Includes information on STD's and available campus resources.
  • Study Abroad Pre-Departure Orientation-manditory for some GEO travelers.  This program helps prepare students for travel/study abroad and includes information on immunization needs and safety/travel tips.
  • Women's Health-educational program for young women encouraging health care based on standard recommendations for the college age woman.  Students are encouraged to plan for their annual well-woman visit and are educated on what to expect.
  • Alcohol Poisoning-Presented by Peer Education at Creighton (PEAC)  Includes signs and symptoms of acute alcohol poisoning and campus resources available to students.
  • Eating Healthy on a Budget-how to make the most of your grocery store trips on a budget.  Program includes planning tips used at local grocery store chain Hy-Vee—NuVul system.
  • Know Your Pour-tabletop program to help illustrate what standard drink size is and how beer goggles (higher BAC) impact this perception.
  • Make and Take First Aid Kits—provided by Campus Health Aides—students will put together a personal first aid kit.  Supplies included with an explanation of how to use each over-the-counter medication sample.
  • Other programming as requested.
