Will the University recognize students at an in-person celebration?

Will the University recognize students at an in-person celebration?

As the University remains committed to providing an in-person, and on-campus, graduation experience for the Class of 2020, it is essential to confer degrees virtually this May 16, given that many graduates will be starting careers, moving on to graduate school or starting service programs following commencement.

Working with local governmental and health officials, we hope to have an announcement soon regarding an in-person, campus-based celebration, and in our assessment, we will not compromise the health of the Creighton and Omaha communities.

Please be sure to keep your regalia in a safe place, so you have it available for use at the in-person, on-campus events in September. Additional details will be available soon.

On Friday, May 15th in a video for specific schools and colleges, each student's name will be read, and a personalized slide featuring the student's photo will appear on the screen. Graduating students from undergraduate programs in the College of Arts and Sciences, Heider College of Business and the College of Professional Studies will be together in one ceremony video.

If applicable, students have been contacted to submit their photo and personal message in the weeks prior.
