1973

Bruce C. Rohde, BSBA’71, JD, Omaha, has been recognized as trustee emeritus on the Creighton University Board of Trustees. Rohde had served on the Creighton Board of Trustees since 1989. He was Board vice chair from 2000-2011 and Board chairman from 2011-2015.

1974

Thomas J. Sanders, BASoc, Wichita, Kansas, received the Quiet Hero Award from the Difference Makers for Wichita in December 2016. He also was the first recipient of the Ivonne Goldstein Award for Community Volunteer. Sanders, who retired following a 35-year career in health care, including 10 years as executive director of the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita, volunteers for more than 12 organizations that help the Wichita community.

1975

Roger A. Meyer, MD, Greensboro, Georgia, received the Freihaut Lifetime Achievement Award from the Georgia Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in February 2017. The award was given to Meyer, who also holds a DDS degree, for exemplary and important research, education and patient care in the treatment of peripheral nerve injuries.

William H. McCartney, JD, Burnet, Texas, has co-chaired a Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) task force for two years. The task force is studying current issues in the regulation of insurance. His co-authored report, “Improving U.S. Insurance Regulation,” was published by BPC in April 2017.

Susan M. Dunn, BSN, Denver, has been elected vice president/president-elect of the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network/United Network for Organ Sharing board of directors. She is president and chief executive officer of Donor Alliance, the Denver-based organ procurement organization serving Colorado and most of Wyoming.
