Chemistry Tutors
This is Damian Daszynski, a chemistry major with high aspirations for medical school. He comes from the 3rd largest city in California, San Jose, where he attended a Jesuit preparatory school. During his years in high school, he tutored math and science, played rugby, and was a part of the school's music programs. Here at Creighton he is part of the Honors Program, the service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and a member of Eta Sigma Phi. During his free time, he loves to make people laugh. His motto: "Without the gift of laughter, there is no life."
Shweta Goswami is a Biochemistry Major at Creighton University and is planning on going to medical school after she graduates college. Shweta is originally from Amritsar, India and has moved more times than she can count. She enjoys playing tennis in her free time. She is currently the President of the Arts and Sciences Student Senate and the Vice President of Innovation for Alpha Sigma Nu. She's also involved with the Honors Program and Chemistry Club.
My name is Amanda Kobayashi and I am from Honolulu, Hawaii. I am currently a sophomore considering a major in Biochemistry. I enjoy being active, doing community service, hanging out with friends, and going to school. Science (preferably chemistry) is my favorite subject! I look forward to meeting you!
Emma Mitchell is a senior Chemistry major from Mequon, Wisconsin. She is the President of Lutheran Campus Ministries on campus and very involved in her sorority Pi Beta Phi. In addition, she plays alto saxaphone in the pep band and does crafts as much as she can when not reading Dean Koontz or listening to Phil Collins.
Lauren Turco is a senior chemistry major from the great city of Omaha, Nebraska. She serves as a chemistry tutor and Teaching Assistant and is very involved as Co-President of the chemistry club. In addition, Lauren likes to read a good book and do some cooking. Her favorite work is The Great Gatsby and she makes a mean dish of stir fried noodles. Next year, Lauren plans to attend medical school and go on to practice in a pediatric specialty.
Tommy Nemmers a sophomore Pre-Med student from Kansas City with a major in Math, as well as minors in Physics and Spanish. Currently a resident of Kennefick Hall, he enjoys spending free time at the gym or hanging out with friends. Tommy remains an avid Chiefs fan, and tries to attend home games whenever possible, but also enjoy all sports that involve our Blujays, especially basketball.
Katie Truitt is a sophomore Biology major from Omaha, Nebraska. She participates in the Honors Program, Biomedical Research, and Delta Zeta, among other things. In her spare time she likes to take yoga classes at the KFC, and her favorite spot to study is the desk in her dorm room.
Jozef Pavnica is a Biochemistry major from Chicago, Illinois. Of his many hobbies, longboarding and making music are his favorites. He is a Resident Advisor in Swanson, and enjoys a nice run around downtown Omaha on a fair day.
Andrea DeCino is a junior English major who is also focusing on Biology and Chemistry. She recently decided to attend Pharmacy School after graduation due to her interest in Chemistry. She is a Colorado native and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.
Zachary George is a junior Biology/Spanish double major from Woodbury, Minnesota. I've grown up playing soccer my entire life and love to be active everyday. On top of tutoring, I'm involved with Pre-Med Society, intramurals, and an RSP Decurion. This passed summer I spent 7 weeks in Bolivia, which was absolutely unbelievable and encourage everybody to try and study abroad.
Alex Tymkowicz is a sophomore from Sioux City, IA. She’s not entirely sure where her education will take her these days but her school work is a combination of Biology, Exercise Science, and English. Alex is a member of Gamma Phi Beta (snaps!), in the Honors program, and loves all things related to soccer.
Saad Malik is a junior hailing from Omaha, Nebraska. He serves as the President of the Muslim Student Association, enjoys long walks on the beach, and always turns a penny he sees on the ground face up when he walks by. In addition, he participates in activities with the pre-med society. He also believes Heavyweights is the greatest Disney Channel original movie ever filmed.
Lauren Hintz is a junior biochemistry major from Milwaukee, Wisconsin (GO PACK!). She is a two-time captain of the women's cross country team and is involved in biochemistry research and various volunteer activities, including her favorite - playing with the children in pediatrics! She loves learning, and she loves teaching, and tutoring allows her to do both!!
Brooke Jensen is a junior Pre-Med English major from Eden Prairie, Minnesota. She is a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, often participates in the pre-med society meetings and activities, and loves volunteering at Creighton University Medical Center in the Pediatrics department. In her free time she loves reading, running, and baking.
Tiffany Ramos is a sophomore Pre-Pharmacy student. She has traveled miles and miles away to attend Creighton and is from Ewa Beach, Hawaii. Her favorite subject is chemistry and considers herself a dork. On campus she is involved in the Pre-Pharmacy Club and Hawaii Club. In her free time she enjoys going to the beach, hiking, shopping, and hanging out with friends.
Adam Cohen is a junior Biochemistry major from Paradise Valley, Arizona. He is the treasurer in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and occasionally gives tours for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. In addition, he participates in the pre-med society, and enjoys hanging out with his friends at the KFC basketball courts.
Math Tutors
Jason Goins is a Senior Chemistry student. He grew up in Colorado Springs and enjoys all outdoor activities. Jason is in Air Force ROTC, a co-captain of the Ultimate Frisbee club, participates in all sorts of intramurals, and can neither sing nor dance well.
Lauren Plachinski is a pre-pharmacy student from Cedarburg, Wisconsin. She is a member of pre-pharmacy club, Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity, and Tri Delta at Creighton. Her favorite school subject is math, and in her free time she enjoys swimming, traveling, and spending time with friends.
Maddie Weston is a 5th year Chemistry and Secondary Education major. This semester she student teaching high school Physics at a local High School in South Omaha. She looks forward to being a middle school Science teacher and hope to eventually get a Master's degree in Special Education. Maddie spends her free time watching HGTV, trying new recipes, and gardening.
Jensen Lau is a sophomore Math major from the paradise island, Honolulu, Hawaii. He is a member of the Hawaii Club and the Pre-Med society. His interest is playing the piano and he volunteers at the Creighton Medical Center. If you are roaming around Reinart Library or at Skutt, you will see him either eating, sleeping, or just studying.
Lee Weiner is a junior Biology major from Salina, Kansas. He spends a lot of time in the Biology Department researching with Dr. Cullum and working as a Teaching Assistant. He is a Co-Philanthropy Chair for Phi Delta Theta, spends time volunteering around Omaha and enjoys improv soloing on the saxophone.
Tom Weaver is a senior Biochemistry major from Cherokee, Iowa. He is a member of pre-med society and chemistry club. In his off-time he enjoys golfing and other outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing.
Kaitlyn Steinacher is a junior from Lincoln, Nebraska. She is majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Social Entrepreneurship. She serves on the executive committee for Relay for Life as the VP of Mission and is also the Treasurer of her sorority, Tri Delta. In her free time, Kaitlyn loves going to Husker football games and traveling.
Sarah Budney is a sophomore from Monument, Colorado. She is currently pursuing a degree in Energy Technology but intends to go to Medical School. She is a Co-Director of Continuous Open Bidding of Creighton's newest sorority, Alpha Phi, and is also a leader on the Freshman Retreat. In her spare time she likes to play soccer, fish, and play piano.
Ben Schmachtenberger is a sophomore Physics major who calls Denver, Colorado home. He enjoys playing soccer with his friends, as well as stargazing and fantasizing about being an astronaut. Ben is an active member in the Pre-Med society, and hasn't decided if he wants to go into medicine, bioengineering or astronomy.
Becca Moynihan is a junior Math and Secondary Education double major from Chicago, Illinois. She volunteers as a sixth grade tutor at Kellom Elementary School and often goes to the Boys and Girls Club. She is also a Deurion for RSP. In her free time, Becca enjoys playing basketball and soccer as well as playing the piano.

Bianca Jinete is a sophomore International Relations major coming from far away: Barranquilla, Colombia! She loves helping others learn Spanish, her native language, but she also speaks English, Portuguese and French. Bianca is very involved on campus: she is a member of Gamma Phi Beta and serves as President of Cultural and Social Affairs for the International Student Association. In addition, she loves soccer, but doesnt understand a thing about football. You can usually find her running outside when its snowing!
Liz Halfmann is a senior Spanish and Social Work double-major, tackling a Theology minor as well. She loves Spanish and, after studying and immersing herself in Spain for 5 months and interning at an interpreting agency this past summer, is very confident with the language. If you are ever looking to better your Spanish for class or even just want a conversation partner for awhile, let her know! Liz is also very involved on & off-campus as the president of the Catholic Student Organization, social work practicum student, and intramurals referee.
John Bieber is a junior Philosophy major and Biology minor from Cherokee, Iowa. He is a new addition to the Creighton Pep Band and is very involved with Academic Success as a Decurion and desk worker. If he’s not already in the office, he’s probably somewhere on campus watching The Office.
Maddy Novoa is a senior Exercise Science major from Omaha, Nebraska. She is a Biology and Spanish minor, and hopes to attend Medical School next year. Maddy serves as a Vice President on the Honors Program Student Advisory Board and is very involved with Women's Club Soccer. In her free time she enjoys reading and going to BodyPump classes in the KFC.
